To Keep Your Bike in Optimal Condition

BeginONE & PassionONE Maintenance Guide

Recommended Care Instructions for Your Trustin E-Bike

⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE

Always power off your e-bike and remove the battery (if applicable) before performing any maintenance. For complex repairs involving brakes, bearings, or electrical systems, we strongly recommend consulting a certified bicycle technician. Improper maintenance may void your warranty and create safety hazards.

Disclaimer: This guide provides general maintenance recommendations to help maintain your Trustin BeginONE or PassionONE e-bike. Following these suggestions does not guarantee specific performance outcomes or product lifespan. Always refer to your owner's manual and local regulations. Trustin is not liable for damages resulting from improper maintenance procedures.

Proper maintenance helps keep your Trustin e-bike performing at its best. With winter approaching, these care tips can help protect your investment and ensure safe operation. Regular attention to your BeginONE or PassionONE will help maintain optimal performance and reliability.

❄️ Winter Riding & Storage

Cold Weather Riding Tips:
  • Allow battery to reach room temperature (approx. 65-75°F / 18-24°C) before riding when possible
  • Consider using a neoprene battery cover for added thermal protection during rides
  • After cold-weather riding, wait until battery returns to room temperature before charging
Extended Storage Guidelines (30+ days without use):
  • Remove battery and store indoors at room temperature, away from direct sunlight
  • Maintain battery charge between 40-60% (partial charge recommended). Check charge level monthly and recharge if needed
  • Store bike in dry environment; avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat (parked cars) or freezing conditions
  • For coastal areas: additional anti-corrosion measures recommended due to salt air exposure

📋 Pre-Ride Inspection (Every Ride)

1. Tire Pressure & Wheels

Use a pressure gauge to verify tires are inflated to recommended PSI (indicated on tire sidewall). Visually inspect tires for cuts, embedded objects, or excessive wear. Spin wheels to check for smooth rotation, rim integrity, and brake clearance.

2. Drivetrain Check

Belt Drive (if equipped): Inspect for cracks, fraying, or debris. Check tension according to manufacturer specifications.
Chain Drive (if equipped): Check for rust, stiff links, or excessive dirt. Ensure smooth rotation through all gears.

3. Surface Cleaning (When Needed)

After riding in mud, dust, or wet conditions, wipe down frame and components with damp cloth. Never use high-pressure water on electrical components or bearings.

4. Battery Status

Verify charge level before departure. We recommend charging after each ride according to the guidelines in your BeginONE/PassionONE manual.

🔧 Regular Maintenance (Every 3-5 Rides)

1. Brake Inspection

Check pad wear using a flashlight or white paper background. Look for contamination or glazing. Wet conditions and descents accelerate wear. Clean calipers with isopropyl alcohol only. If you notice fluid leaks or spongy lever feel, discontinue use and contact a technician immediately.

2. Bolt Tightness

Verify critical fasteners (stem, handlebar, seat post, pedals) are secure using appropriate torque wrench settings. Pay special attention during the first 90 days of ownership as components settle.

3. Debris Removal

Clear battery compartment, motor vents, crankset, and handlebar area of dirt accumulation to prevent overheating and wear.

⚙️ Periodic Service (Every 3-6 Months)

1. Tire Assessment

Inspect tread depth and sidewall condition. Front and rear tires wear differently based on riding style and terrain. Replace when tread wear indicators are reached or if sidewall damage is present.

2. Electrical Contacts (If Applicable)

For removable batteries: Inspect terminals for corrosion. Clean with appropriate electrical contact cleaner if necessary, ensuring complete dryness before reconnection.

3. Wheel Truing & Spoke Check

Check for loose or broken spokes and wheel wobble. Note: Spoke tension adjustment and wheel truing require specialized tools and expertise. We recommend visiting a qualified bike shop for these services.

🔩 Annual Professional Service

The following procedures require specialized tools and technical expertise. For safety and warranty compliance, we recommend having these services performed by a certified e-bike technician at an authorized service center:

  • Hydraulic Brake Service: Fluid flush/bleed and complete system inspection
  • Bearing Services: Front hub, bottom bracket, and headset bearing inspection/replacement
